Christmas 2013

We spent Christmas 2013 in Columbus. It was a semi-white Christmas, having snowed a couple days before leaving a light dusting on the ground. Peter and I had fun setting the scene for Cade to crawl down the hall and see all the gifts laid out for him. Cade enjoyed all of his gifts from us, our families and Santa. He had a grand time in the trash pile. So much paper!

 Peter cooked a wonderful Christmas breakfast for us. Cade watched the action and the dogs hoped for something to be dropped. We opened a couple gifts, had breakfast and after breakfast, Cade played in the trash pile. We skyped family, trying to keep Cade from typing a message. Cade loves to wear his hat and play in his new tent with Peter.

  

Cade loves all of his new toys. He especially enjoyed helping his Daddy open the boxes and assemble everything. Thank you to everyone who sent a gift!

Santa Visit

We waited in an incredibly long line for Cade's first Santa visit. As you'll see, we needed sustenance half way through! Cade is a pro with the straw.

The little girl in line in front of us cried when she got to Santa. Cade was kind of confused about the whole thing. He looked up at Santa, touched the fur on his coat, looked at me and started crying. I'm not entirely sure it was Santa that he was unhappy with. I think it was the crazy wait and the late hour. Either way, there's always next year!

Lately

Cade was the cutest little duck. It's way past Halloween, but I just came across this little photo session of our adorable duck. He was ok with being in the pumpkin as long as he had the He-Man. And, he absolutely LOVED flying through the air. Look at that huge smile!

My Mom visited us at the end of November. While she was here, she let Cade splash around in a bowl of water (which he really enjoys!). His vigorous splashing caused the bowl to dump over on him. He was not pleased.... And, my Mom ended up soaking wet.

We also put the tree up while my Mom was in town. Cade is intrigued by the lights and the feel of the branches.

We took Christmas card photos today. I'm so excited to get our Christmas designed and sent out to everyone. I'll share some of the photos that we don't use for the card later this week.
